Haverhill Synergy Cafe

This is a charity that helps people suffering from dementia of various types.  It helps provide somewhere for sufferers and their carers to go to and have some time away from the normal run of the day. It helps people to share experiences and ways to help each other. It also extremely good for the carers to talk to others and so not feel that they are coping on their own. It is under the Sue Ryder group and although this is a large charity the Synergy Cafe is not funded by it but relies on local fundraising to keep it going. The cafe was a huge help to our family prior to my mothers death from the disease and so this is why I have nominated it as one of my charities.

Haverwell Fund

I am also supporting the Haverwell Fund. This was started to help bring diagnostic equipment to Haverhill so that people do not have to travel to either Bury or Cambridge. We know that for a lot of people travel can be difficult. By raising money for scanners it will allow this to be done at our doctors practices.
