The Town Clerk is the Proper Officer of Haverhill Town Council and also acts as the Responsible Financial Officer (RFO). The Town Clerk is the professional advisor to the Council on matters of policy and ensuring the Council acts lawfully in everything it does. The Town Clerk also ensures that the agreed actions from council and committee meetings are implemented and reports back on progress.
The Town Clerk issues the summons, notices and agendas for all meetings of the Council in accordance with the statutory requirements. The Town Clerk takes the minutes and issues drafts prior to being approved at the next meeting.
