West Suffolk Council’s Cabinet member for Planning has welcomed a public consultation on plans for a new school and community facility in Haverhill.
A new 210 place primary school and 30 place pre school have been proposed by Suffolk County Council on land near Ann Suckling Road, along with a new community facility.
The plans have come forward after West Suffolk Council secured section 106 developer funds as part of the planning permission for the Haverhill North West scheme.
Cllr Frank Stennett, Cabinet Member for Planning at West Suffolk Council said: “We’re delighted to see proposals come forward for public consultation about the delivery of both for a new school and community facility.
“We are pleased to be working with both the county council and the town council on this and we look forward to this progress over the months ahead.”
Suffolk County Council is holding a drop in event in Haverhill Arts Centre on Wednesday (23 September) from 3.30pm to 6.30pm.
