Haverhill Splashpad
An update on the Splashpad on the Recreation Ground our new play facility is due to open on 7th September
Delays have occurred due to shortages of both the steel reinforcement and the concrete. The concrete, once poured, has to cure which takes 2 weeks in dry weather. Once the concrete has cured the rubberised overlay can be laid. This is done in individualised colour sections up to 100m2 at a time. This has to set and then the colourful fittings can be put in place. RoSPA then needs to do an inspection before the Splashpad can open.
Revised timetable:
Monday 16th August – Final concrete pour.
Thursday 26th August – Training of staff.
Monday 30th August – Safety surfacing works to commence.
Monday 6th September – ROSPA Post Installation Inspection.
Tuesday 7th September – Planned opening.
