Haverhill’s annual Halloween celebration is back, but with a twist…

This year on Saturday 31 October (running from 2pm to 5pm) we are delighted to be hosting a brand new Halloween event in the town centre, making it even easier for people to join in the fun and celebrate all things spooky.

This free-to-attend event is for families with children aged 3-12 and will feature a spooky scavenger hunt across Haverhill Town Centre, featuring plenty of scary sights and interactive monsters along the way, as well as short performances on the Market Square (times TBC).

There will also be a family-friendly Halloween party taking place at Haverhill Arts Centre at 3pm, 4pm and 5pm for just £1.50 per child (adults free).

Instead of hosting this year's event at East Town Park, our Halloween event will be taking place along the High Street making it even easier to attend.

If you are brave enough, here's how you can take part:

  • Grab a Halloween Trail map at Haverhill Arts Centre or by downloading your copy HERE (Link)
  • Make your way past the scary gatekeeper at each location
  • Collect a stamp
  • Win a prize
What can I expect to see along the High Street?

Just like our previous Halloween Trails, you can expect plenty of frights on your travels.

From ghosts to vampires, and everything in between, there will be plenty to see suitable for a family audience.

Why is this year's event different?

After many years of hosting our Halloween Trail at East Town Park, this year we have decided to do something a little different.

Following feedback from attendees over the years we have decided to host this year's event in the town centre.

  • The town centre is an easier location for people across Haverhill to access, including people with disabilities
  • There is better and more accessible parking in the town centre, helping to reduce parking issues and congestion along Chalkstone Way, Coupals Road and surrounding residential streets
  • The event will help to highlight and provide a boost to local businesses within the town centre
  • There will be less time spent queuing and more time enjoying the activities, with no specific timings to take part in the scavenger hunt people will still be able to go trick or treating / have Halloween parties without having to spend time queuing in the cold

The Halloween scavenger hunt will still remain completely free to join in, which we feel is incredibly important.

Is the Halloween event still free?

Yes! The Halloween scavenger hunt will be completely free to enjoy.

Maps will soon be available to be collected at Haverhill Arts Centre or downloaded soon via the Haverhill Town Council website.
