Lest we forget.
The annual remembrance service will take place on Sunday 10th November 2024.
This year’s event will feature a parade followed by a service at Haverhill cemetery.
2:20pm – Remembrance Sunday Parade:
- The parade will start from Haverhill Arts Centre car park.
- The parade will proceed from the car park along Helions Walk and Duddery Hill into the High Street.
- The procession will have a short pause on the Market Square. Veterans and serving armed forces members are then welcome to join the parade.
- The procession will continue onto the Withersfield Road cemetery at 3:00pm.
3:00pm – Cemetery service:
- The service will be led by the Rev Max Drinkwater of St Mary’s Church, Haverhill.
- There will be an opportunity to lay poppies after the ceremony.
- A bugle performance of The Last Post by Tim Pannell.
After the service is over the parade will head back to Haverhill Market Square for an official dismissal.
Road closures:
Please note there will be road closures in place during the afternoon and during the parade.
This includes the following roads:
Temporary closure of Duddery Hill/High Street (from Helions Park Avenue to Mount Road): From 2.20pm until parade has passed.
Haverhill High Street: Full closure from Camps Road to Eden Road from 1pm to 4pm, or until parade has disbanded, whichever is later.
Duddery Road and Eden Road: From 2.20pm until parade has passed.
Camps Road (from Swan Lane to Mill Road): From 2.20pm to 2.40pm and from 3.30pm to 3:50pm, or until parade has passed, whichever is later.
Queen Street: Full closure from 1pm to 4pm , or until parade has passed on return from cemetery, whichever is later.
Withersfield Road (from the Tesco roundabout to Eastern Avenue): From 2.30pm to 2.50pm and from 3:25pm to 3.40pm, or until parade has passed, whichever is later.
Lower Downs Slade car park: From 2.30pm to 2.50pm and from 3.25pm to 3.40pm, or until parade has passed, whichever is later.
Crowland Road (from Downs Crescent to Withersfield Road): From 2.30pm to 2-.50pm and 3.25pm to 3.40, or until parade has passed, whichever is later.
Broad Street: From 2.30pm to 2.50pm and 3.25pm to 3.40, or until parade has passed, whichever is later.
