memorial-day

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped organise the Suffolk Day 2024 celebrations, especially with Haverhill being named the lead town for this year.

To celebrate the day on the Market Square there were two Suffolk Punches, dancing from the SlackMagirdle Morris Dancing side and specially commissioned art work from Suffolk resident Joel Millerchip.

Lord Lieutenant, Clare, Countess of Euston and High Sheriff, Yvonne Gilchrist-Mason presented a bouquet to Christine Norman before Professor Martin Carver was awarded the Suffolk Medal.

A special thank you goes to the students from Castle Manor and Samuel Ward Academies for their proclamation reading, and to the students from Clements Primary Academy who sung A Million Acres.

The event was also covered in the press by the East Anglian Daily Times, Suffolk News and the Suffolk Community Foundation.
