VJ Day Event
This Saturday it is VJ Day (Victory over Japan Day) to mark the occasion Haverhill Family History Group (Member of Suffolk Family History Society) have created this short video to explain what it means.
This Saturday @Haverhill Town Council will hold a ceremony to commemorate the sacrifices and losses of all those, but particularly the local men who fought in the Far East. Due to current rules on social gatherings unfortunately the ceremony cannot be public. However, you can join us virtually and in spirit by watching a live stream of the proceedings, including the laying of wreaths, readings, prayers and a two minute silence here, on our Facebook page from 10.50am.
