His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh Memorial Fund Information
To mark the passing of His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh, Haverhill Community Trust is pleased to announce the establishment of a new Memorial Fund, to honour Prince Philip’s remarkable public service spanning nearly 75 years.
The fund will support issues that the Duke championed such as:
• Emotional wellbeing for young people, including breaking down barriers to taking part in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme
• Environmental issues
• Promoting engineering as a career
Funds will help set up new local projects or be issued as grants to other local organisations.
You can contribute to the Memorial Fund through the Haverhill Arts Centre website, https://bit.ly/2PV8U5Y with 100% of funds raised being used locally to further the work that was so close to his heart. We hope you will agree this makes a fitting alternative to laying floral tributes, in line with the wishes of the Royal Family.
Thank you in advance for supporting this fund. You can find more details of the many causes Prince Philip supported at https://www.royal.uk/donations
Haverhill Community Trust was originally set up as a charitable trust in 1896 to look after Haverhill Town Hall. In 2015 the Charity Commission, on the request of the Trustee Committee, extended the objects of the charity to promote such charitable purposes for the benefit of the inhabitants of Haverhill as the trustee thinks fit. The Trust already supports vulnerable young people into training and employment and is the umbrella for both the Haverhill Volunteer Centre and Haverhill In Bloom.
