Clements Primary Academy student, Avanthika Aneesh, has had her design chosen to become the new logo for the Clements Community Centre (formerly Leiston Centre). Avanthika, a Year 2 student, was selected by Haverhill’s councillors for her drawing that depicts children holding hands on a sunny day.

The logo will adorn the Clements Community Centre building on a brand-new sign and will be used on any publicity for the Community Centre in the years to come.

Numerous designs were submitted by students from the whole school with the only stipulation being that any new logo had to reflect the community spirit of the Clements.

Avanthika was presented with the newly created sign by Haverhill Mayor, Councillor David Smith, during a school assembly.

Councillor Smith said: “It was an honour to present Avanthika with her design that reflects the spirit of the Clements Community Centre. Her image it will sit pride of place on the building for years to come.”

Vicky Hogg, Headteacher at Clements Primary Academy, added: “All of our children’s designs were beautifully created and it would have been a tough task for the councillors to select a winner.

“Avanthika’s design is truly special and it will be a proud moment for her and the school to see it adorn the Clements Community Centre building. A special thank you goes out to all of our children who submitted designs, they were all wonderful and they should be proud of their hard work.”
