Youth Worker

Unqualified £14.13 an hour    Qualified £14.84 an hour

Overall Responsibilities:

a) To work with the Senior Youth Worker to provide outreach services to young
people using the On The Spot Van.

b)
To work with the Senior Youth Worker to provide detached youth work
services to young people.

c)
To work within a building to provide informal education in a safe and
welcoming environment.

Co-option of Councillor

A casual vacancy has arisen for the role of Parish Councillor for Haverhill Town Council South East Ward. As a by-election was not called the Town Council now seeks to fill the seat through co-option and is calling for interested people to come forward.

Applicants will need to confirm that they meet the qualifying criteria for being a councillor and are not disqualified from holding office, as well as to provide background information to help the Council choose the best candidate.

The selection will take place at the full council meeting on Monday 28th September, 7pm at Haverhill Arts Centre. Each candidate will be given an opportunity to briefly address the Council should they wish. All valid applications will be considered, including those of candidates not present.

Applications will only be considered with completed application forms attached. 

Completed forms must be received by the Town Clerk by 3pm on Friday 19th September 2025. It may be delivered as a hardcopy to Haverhill Arts Centre, High Street, Haverhill CB9 8AR, or emailed to colin.poole@haverhill-tc.gov.uk.

Office Administrator Trainee

10 hours per week

Overall Responsibilities:

To provide excellent administrative support to colleagues. Helping with financial processes, carrying out hospitality duties daily and at Council events, maintain records as required. Assist in the preparation for Council meetings and support the work of the Mayoral Secretary. Full list of responsibilities will be in the job description.

Creative and Participation Officer

£13.36 per hour

14 hours per week, to be worked flexibly by agreement.

Overall Responsibilities:

To develop, implement, and manage creative participation projects that foster community engagement, inclusion, and access to the arts. The role involves coordinating participatory activities, workshops, and performances that allow people of all backgrounds to experience and contribute to the creative process in the Arts Centre.

Casual Arts Centre Assistant

Zero hours contract   £12.60 per hour

Are you aged 18 or over and seeking a varied role providing an outstanding level of customer service?

If you are a great team player with a positive attitude and the flexibility to work a variety of shifts including, evenings and weekends, Haverhill Town Council would like to hear from you.

Our team provide a friendly and efficient service in our café, bar, kiosk, box office and as ushers in the auditorium and during outdoor events. No experience necessary as full training will be provided.

Community Warden / Parish Handyperson

37 hours per week to be worked flexibly between 7am and
5pm over 5 days per week

The role is intended to contribute to civic pride within Haverhill by helping to ensure that the town is clean, tidy and well maintained. The work compliments the work done by District and County Council operatives.
